Laurie Hubbard

MPT

Laurie Hubbard Combredet has practiced physical therapy for over two decades. She received her Physical Therapy graduate degree in 1995 from Columbia University in New York City where she lived and worked prior to moving to California. Over the years Laurie has worked in many different settings from hospital based acute care and rehabilitation units to home care, but she has practiced most often and is happiest in the outpatient clinic environment.

Laurie’s approach to physical therapy treatment is holistic and she believes that treating an injury or physical dysfunction requires an analysis of the whole person, their movement patterns and their lifestyle. In the typical evaluation an analysis is made of areas of hypo or hypermobility. This is followed by a specific manual treatment to these areas to “loosen that which is hypomobile and stabilize that which is hypermobile”.

Laurie uses a variety of tools in order to achieve results including:

  • Soft tissue mobilization/ Myofascial Release

  • Cupping/ Graston Technique

  • Kinesiotaping

  • Lower extremity, core and scapular stability exercises

  • Foam roller self soft tissue mobilization techniques

During her free time, Laurie enjoys biking along the beach, walking her dogs and exploring the LA food scene.
